William took part in the Downs Syndrome European Open Swimming Championships in Southampton last month. In the races in his division, he won two gold medals (for backstroke and breaststroke, a silver (for butterfly) and a 4th position (for frontcrawl). It was a most wonderful event with 100 swimmers from as far away as Russia and Brazil. It was also great to meet some of the GB swimmers including World and European champions who swim for the GB DS ISO- something to aspire to although they swim 6 days a week for 2-3 hours each time!
Specifically for young people with Downs Syndrome.
Venue: Nene Park Academy Sports Hall.
For all ages & ability. FREE.
Run by Peterborough United Foundation, free kicks and ASD Ltd.
The next DS Football session will be between 10.30&11.25 on Saturday the 18th April, the sessions will then run every other Saturday between 10.30 & 11.30am.
